Upper Klamath River - Spring Island to Copco Lake - Class IV+

Klamath River

The Upper Klamath River is one of the most exciting whitewater rivers in the Pacific Northwest and we offer a choice of two rafting adventures - a full day trip or a 2 day/1 night camp trip for twice as much fun!

We invite you to join us on this thrilling and beautiful river for an unbeatable rafting adventure. Find out why we call it "Nature's Rollercoaster"! Excitement, steep canyon scenery, local history and the chance to see wildlife in it's natural setting - the Upper Klamath River has it all and it's waiting here for you.

Full Day Trip - Upper Klamath

The full day trip is our most popular one day trip and a must for anyone who wants to experience whitewater rafting at its best.

Our trip begins in the early morning. We pick you up at your hotel, motel or Bed & Breakfast and start up the historic Greensprings Highway east of Ashland, Oregon. Our shuttle takes us through the forested scenery of America's newest National Monument, Cascade-Siskiyou. At the put-in you'll enjoy fresh fruit and baked goods as your guides ready the boat.

The rapids are mild to moderate at first, giving everyone the chance to get acclimated and pumped. But soon we reach the Hell's Canyon Gorge and the beginning of an 85-foot-per-mile drop. The adrenaline really starts to kick in as you realize that the experiences behind you were mere tastes of what lies ahead. This is one of life's natural highs and, after the first bite, you won't want to be anywhere else. The very names of the challenges ahead tell the story: Caldera, Satan's Gate, Hell's Corner, Ambush, The Bermuda Triangle, 40+ rapids in all! Rapid after rapid, you will thrill to the best non-stop white water action to be found anywhere!

Just when you need a break from paddling, the gorge is behind us and you've worked up a raging appetite. We'll stop by the river's edge to feast on a first-rate gourmet lunch buffet. If you have special dietary requirements, just let us know prior to your trip and we will gladly make adjustments.

After lunch, we continue down the river at a much more relaxed pace, giving you a chance to catch your breath and reflect on the day's adventure. We'll pinwheel through Dance Hall, play in surf holes, and use the scenic float stretches to spot herons, cormorants, hawks, and eagles. We end at Copco Lake, just over the California border where our van and shuttle driver will meet you and return you to your place of lodging. This is the BEST one-day adventure in Southern Oregon!

2 Day/1 Night Camp Trip - Upper Klamath

Our 2-day wilderness camping trip offers the best of the river - twice! At the end of the exhilarating day of rafting, we shuttle you back upriver via the historic California-Oregon Trail to Frain Ranch for dinner. While our guides become extraordinary chefs and your dinner is cooking, you can relax with a good book, play horseshoes, try your hand at fishing or just snooze in the sun.

We start out with appetizers and libations, followed by a barbecued entree' and accompanied by a feast. Oregon micro brewed beers, juice and soda are served with dinner. In the morning, a hot cooked breakfast is served. After breakfast, we raft the incredible Hell's Corner Gorge a second time!

We can also combine this trip with a Lower Klamath trip which makes for an unforgettable 3 or more day outing.

We raft the Klamath every day from May through October, and delight in bringing this whitewater excitement to first-time rafters. Our competent guides will make even the most timid rafter comfortable. We welcome anyone over the age of 12 to give this ultimate adventure a try!

ARE YOU HARDCORE?!
Take the Double-Barrel Challenge! In the early spring, snowmelt from the Cascades and Siskiyous overwhelms the Klamath's dam and reservoir system, requiring the power company to release water through both giant flumes instead of the customary one. The Double-Barrel shot makes for huge water: raft launching wave trains, humongous hydraulics, snatch and dump eddies, you name it. We offer this trip in April and May at a special price discount of 15%. A must for lovers of Big Water!
